Toronto's Prism Award Is Now Available to All ICF Chapters

In 2000, ICF's Greater Toronto Area Chapter (GTA) created an award to celebrate and recognize organizations that have achieved excellence through coaching. The Prism Award is given annually to a business or organization in the chapter's area. The award also recognizes coaches and coaching collaborations whose initiatives contributed to the success of the business or organization.

In 2004, the Calgary Association of Professional Coaches successfully launched its own Prism Award program. Now in its fifth year, the Prism Award is ready to go international!

The award's creators are offering their experience and expertise free of charge to any ICF chapter that would like to sponsor the award in its area. To help facilitate this, an informational booth about the Prism program will be on site at the ICF Annual International Conference in Québec City. The conference will also include two brief presentations on the award, at the Chapter Leaders Workshop and at the Recognition Luncheon.

I had the pleasure of speaking at the GTA's September meeting, and I was truly impressed with the dedication and energy surrounding the Prism. I urge all ICF chapters to consider adopting this award. In addition to promoting the positive aspects of coaching, it generates considerable media coverage and spotlights chapter activities.

For more information on the award, visit the ICF Greater Toronto Area Chapter's website at www.gtacoaches.com/Home.asp. And remember to stop by the Prism Award booth at the ICF Conference.

With warm wishes,
Daniel Martinage, CAE
